According to tradition, the Trisagion hymn (“Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us.”) was taught to us by the Angels. In preparation for the Orthodox funeral service, a headband inscribed with the Trisagion is placed on the forehead of the reposed, as a symbol of the crown of glory received by the faithful in Christ, as well as the hope that our departed loved one is sharing in the angelic life. Our new funeral headbands are printed in English in bright, vivid colors.
